"How Communities Heal" is a public presentation by vivian Hutchinson aimed at fostering a wider community conversation about the state of our community sector, and looking at what communities can do to regenerate our activities for the common good. This presentation focuses on the importance of actively fostering creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship in all our social, economic, environmental and cultural initiatives.

The presentation includes examples of the work vivian has been doing with employment and job creation initiatives, community and economic development programmes, and the activities of the New Zealand Social Entrepreneur Fellowship. He also outlines the work of Community Taranaki, an initiative aimed at fostering more active citizenship and generous engagement in our communities.

"Doing Real Good" is an in-depth workshop led by vivian Hutchinson which examines the current state of our community sector and the general climate that our work for the common good is operating within. It also encourages participants to look at specific strategies for the resilience and regeneration of community initiatives at this time.

The workshop reflects on the impact of funding, engagement, identity and perseverance in reaching our community development goals. It looks at how community organisations are coping with the current era of cut-backs and austerity, and how we can foster greater creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship in all our activities. The workshop also outlines a set of specific strategies for the renewal of ourselves and our  social, economic, environmental and cultural initiatives.
